Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
In another bowl, beat eggs and gradually add buttermilk, mixing well.
Combine wet and dry ingredients, mixing until just combined. Don't overmix.
Divide batter evenly between prepared pans.
Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
Cool in pans for 10 minutes, then turn out onto wire racks.
